I am Mari, the creator, self-proclaimed travel “expert,” and lead voice behind Chica on a Trip.

Postgrad, I relocated to Tulum on a whim, way before it became a "TikTok" trend or catered to IG Influencers; it became my home away from home. Soon after, I transitioned from the corporate world, to a self-employed real estate agent and travel blogger.

My passion for traveling began while serving and sailing in the U.S. Navy. And ever since, I’ve been collecting passport stamps, across six continents. Subsequently, I became a personal travel concierge for family, friends, and even strangers! Which is why, I’ve decided to graciously share the ins and outs, and dos and don’ts of traveling, to inspire you to book your next travel destination.

For the last two decades, I’ve been tripping solo; with my Chicas; in the company of a man; alongside colleagues; or in groups. Whether you’re a first-timer, a nomad, or a seasoned traveler, I want to showcase some of my content, offer travel guidance, share some of my best (and worst) experiences.
